James Carlos Agravante Yap Sr. is a Filipino professional basketball player for the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters of the Philippine Basketball Association. Known as Big Game James, he played for Star Hotshots for twelve seasons and won seven PBA Championships before being traded in 2016. He is also a 16-time PBA All-Star. a beginning. Yap had a successful high school basketball career at Bacolod Tay Tung High School and then at the Iloilo Central Business High School, where he brought his team to three consecutive Iloilo PRISAA titles. He went on to play at university level for the EU Red Warriors and helped the team reach the Finals in 2002 after years of absence. However, the Red Warriors were defeated by the Blue Eagles, the future champions. In the next UAAP season, Yap led the Red Warriors for the second time in a row to the Finals.
