EMINEM has gotten into a legal battle with two Real Housewives of Potomac stars.

Their trademark battle began earlier this year when Gizelle Bryant, 53, and Robyn Dixon, 44, filed to trademark their podcast name Reasonably Shady in hopes of creating products to sell to listeners.

However, in February, Eminem, 51 filed an opposition against the Real Housewives of Potomac stars to prevent them from using the word on merchandise.

Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, argued that consumers of their upcoming line of Reasonably Shady merchandise, can "cause confusion" - he, as fans know, has been commonly called Slim Shady or Shady for the last 25 years.

He also believes his brand will be damaged if they are issued the trademark - "confusion in trade resulting in damage and injury," he specifically stated in the docs.

MOVING FORWARD

More recently, on December 15, the 8 Mile actor requested a protective order against Gizelle and Robyn, according to documents obtained by AllHipHop.

The reason he filed the motion was so that he didn't have to attend the deposition in person as the rap music star felt it would be unduly burdensome to make an appearance as he has "limited knowledge of the subjects at issue."

His lawyers revealed that the Bravolebrities have been "consistent on deposing Mathers" - which is the reason they are requesting "a protective order precluding the deposition of Marshall Mathers."

However, Eminem's attorneys working on the case revealed that three people - including Eminem's manager Paul Rosenberg - would attend the court trial, that they had "equal and superior knowledge [as Eminem] on the relevant topics."

NOT GOING BACK

Back in March, The U.S. Sun exclusively revealed that the two TV personalities would "absolutely not" change their podcast name.

Gizelle, at first, believed Eminem's filing was a joke.

"Oh, [we were] totally surprised. We thought it was a joke! We were like, 'What?'" The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip cast member told The U.S. Sun at the time.

When asked if they plan on changing their podcast name, Gizelle told The U.S. Sun: "Oh, absolutely not. And we're registered, so, no, absolutely not."

She shared what the process is for filing: "The trademark and patent office is like a government agency and so, you know, they have a timeline in which everything is looked at.

"And so, this is gonna take us out until 2024 unless he drops it. So we're praying he will drop it because Mr. Eminem, Reasonably Shady doesn't have anything to do with Slim Shady."

Gizelle added: "He does not want to talk to us - I am quite sure - or me in particular.

"We have a million attorneys - well, he's got plenty - we have a trademark attorney that handles just this, so [the attorneys] are talking [to each other]."

MORE ON REASONABLY SHADY

Gizelle and Robyn revealed they were starting a podcast back in May 2021 - and on May 24, their first episode was out.

The official synopsis of the podcast says: "The show features conversations about being fearless women as they recount stories from their exciting lives. Topics include dating, relationships, marriage, entrepreneurs, motherhood, style, glam, current events and more!"
