Who was convicted of FBG Duck's death?
As the Chicago Tribune reported, on January 17, 2024, a federal jury found six alleged O-Block gang members guilty of FBG Duck's murder.
According to the outlet, prosecutors said the rapper was killed "as part of a yearslong gang conflict between factions of the Black Disciples and Gangster Disciples on the South Side."
32-year-old Charles Liggins; 30-year-old Kenneth Roberson; 24-year-old Christopher Thomas; 25-year-old Marcus Smart; 32-year-old Tacarlos Offerd; and 34-year-old Ralph Turpin were "convicted of murder in the aid of racketeering and conspiracy to commit murder."
Liggins, Roberson, Thomas, Smart, and Offerd were also found guilty of using a firearm in the murder, per the publication.
"The verdicts were mixed in the four other counts, which stemmed from wounds suffered by two bystanders also injured in FBG Duck's killing," the Chicago Tribune continued.
"A life sentence is mandatory for a conviction of murder in aid of racketeering," according to the outlet.
The sentencing hearings are anticipated to take place in August and September 2024.
All six defendants are allegedly members or associates of O-Block, "a rival faction of Black Disciples based in the Parkway Gardens housing complex named in honor of Odee Perry, a fellow gang member killed in 2011."
FBG Duck’s mother, LaSheena Weekly, cried as she listened to the jury verdicts at the Everett M. Dirksen US Courthouse, per the publication.
