A TINY home community has welcomed Americans to join the lifestyle trend reimagining modern residences.
That is, if you’re a “similar minded” tiny home enthusiast and meet all the required criteria.
All FOR TINY, AND TINY FOR ALL
Tiny Timbers Agrihood Community is located in Saint Croix Falls, Wisconsin, which is not your average tiny home residency.
Management isn’t just seeking individuals embracing tiny living. They want people who share similar values.
The place advertises itself as for people who share a “love for gardening and the outdoors” where they “can come together and live in a year-round community of similar-minded individuals.”
Tiny Timbers is not a community of tiny homes but land lots where people can park their own.

But the community is less about a monotonous culture and more about building pride around environmentally friendly choices liberated from capitalism.
For example, they encourage creating your own food supply of healthy and diverse foods.
Most stores are a walk, bike, or golf cart ride away.
“From wanting a smaller footprint, to debt freedom, to better stewardship of the land around us people choose this lifestyle for many reasons.”

THE CRITERIA FOR ENTRANCE
Currently, Tiny Timbers offers space for 16 residents. However, the company notes expansion plans.
The expansion also would benefit existing residents, as phase 2 would include the creation of a clubhouse and a second garden area.
There’s strict criteria to apply.
- You will need to bring your own “certified” tiny home (RVIA, NOAH, or Pacific West are all acceptable certifications).
- The home has to be between 150-399 square feet on the main floor and no wider than 14 feet.
- Simply put, the landlord must not think your home is “ugly” or “haphazardly done” (more on this later).
- A max of 3 domestic pets per household.
Understandably, the third requirement is the most ambiguous option.
Beauty is in the eyes of the tiny home holder.
“In the interest of keeping the community looking nice and setting a good example for other states or municipalities that are considering tiny home communities the land owner has architectural approval on the homes and type of skirting.”
In other words, checking with them directly for approval would be best.
The land owner also conducts annual spring maintenance inspections to ensure no repairs or improvements are needed.
Tiny Timbers' approach could be compared to co-op regulations.
In contrast, Americans seeking absolute freedom are creating their own rules.
Many of them are building their humble abodes from scratch or, better said, automobiles.
