A TEACHER has been arrested several months after a hit-and-run that left one man dead.
Jonathan Wibben of Coram, New York, on Long Island, has been charged with leaving the scene of the fatal accident.
Wibben, 34, is in custody concerning the hit-and-run that left 47-year-old Peter Williams dead on June 2, 2023, according to Long Island’s News 12.
The incident happened around 10 pm on Route 112 in Port Jefferson Station on Long Island.
Williams, from Terryville, New York had been crossing the road and his sister said he was walking to a 7-Eleven store to get a pizza that night.

“Just you know makes us be able to rest our head on a pillow a little bit easier,” Rivera-Renna said.
Rivera-Renna also shared why she was particularly upset in this case.
“Accidents happen every day, pedestrians get hit,” she said.
“The problem here is that the person didn’t stop.”
“He had the most amazing soul, amazing person you would have ever met,” she added.
“He had more honor, more integrity, and more love than most people I’ve ever encountered in my life.”
Wibben’s attorney William Petrillo said his client had kept Williams’ family and friends in his mind following the tragedy.
“Very much loved by the students, his colleagues, the faculty, and all who he’s encountered,” Petrillo said.
“Mr Wibben has expressed a tremendous amount of genuine heartfelt sympathy and concern for the obvious tragedy in this case that being the loss of life, and his heart, and his thoughts, and his prayers are for the victim’s family members and friends.”
