TALK of Mike McCarthy potentially being fired continues to spread as the Dallas Cowboys have to make a decision on the head coach's future.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has the power to let McCarthy stay or go after the team's stunning playoff exit versus the Green Bay Packers.
McCarthy has been with the Cowboys since 2020.
While the former Packers Super Bowl-winning coach has led Dallas to three straight playoff appearances, he has totaled just one postseason victory.
The Cowboys did McCarthy no favors after trailing 27-0 in the first half against his former team, with the final result being a 48-32 playoff loss.

Despite rumors regarding McCarthy's potential firing, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported on Tuesday's edition of SportsCenter that the head coach "is still a part of the exit interviews with players and coaches."
However, Fowler added that McCarthy's standing with the Cowboys still "is up in the air."
NFL fans took to social media and believed the 60-year-old coached his last game with Dallas last weekend.
One commented, "McCarthy is history in Dallas."

Another said, "The Cowboys roster made McCarthy look good, he's gone."
And a third added, "Dallas has to move on from McCarthy."
After Sunday's game, Jones told reporters that the defeat was "the most painful" playoff defeat he's experienced.
It's unknown if or when Jones will meet with McCarthy this week.
ESPN's Adam Schefter had reported after Sunday's playoff loss that McCarthy "would be judged" based on the context of the Cowboys' last game of the season.
And Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated revealed that Jones has a strong relationship with Bill Belichick.
The 71-year-old parted ways with the New England Patriots last week after being a six-time Super Bowl champion during his 24 years as head coach.
Dallas hasn't won a Super Bowl in 28 years and Jones could be ready to change directions with the head coach position.

However, Jason Garrett was the previous head coach for the Cowboys, and he lasted with the position for 10 years and finished both of his contracts.
McCarthy has one year left on his deal.
