FANS of Betty Crocker have been left disappointed after hearing the company has discontinued a popular cake mix.

On X, formerly known as Twitter, one user reached out to Betty Crocker to find out the fate of one of their favorite cake mixes.

"What happened to these? I made 100s of Snackin' Cakes growing up," they wrote.

Betty Crocker changed the game when it launched Snackin' Cakes in 1972. They were mixed, baked, and served all in the same pan, making it a hit for those who weren't keen on doing loads of dishes.

The company advertised the process as taking just two minutes to prepare, using only a fork, a spoon, and a pan.

By 1975, there were eight types of cake to bake at home; coconut pecan, banana walnut, chocolate almond, chocolate chip, applesauce raisin, chocolate fudge, spiced raisins, and dates with nuts.

Unfortunately, Betty Crocker had to be the bearer of bad news that the mixes had been discontinued.

"It reminds us [of] some good memories! They've been discontinued many years ago. We'll let our team know that you would like to see them back again," the company wrote.

On a Reddit thread, fans reminisced on baking their own Snackin' Cakes.

One person wrote: "I'm so old that I remember that golden chocolate chip cake mix. Omg, the agony!"

"They were good and I sure wish they were made today. I loved them all," wrote another.

A third person added: "I was a teenager when these were popular. When I'd come home from school in the afternoon I'd make the chocolate chip cake mix and eat the batter."

While they aren't an exact match, Betty Crocker has recipes for some snack cakes, including the iconic chocolate chip variety.

OFF THE SHELVES

Another Betty Crocker favorite that fans want back is the Watermelon Blast Gushers.

Shoppers even started a petition on Change.Org to get them back in production that has over 700 signatures of support.

"Gushers have been my all time favorite snack since childhood," the petition read.

"I still eat gushers on a regular basis, as do many others. We continue to enjoy them and we hope to pass them down to our children."

"However, one discontinued flavor I crave and I miss all the time and everyone misses is the watermelon blast flavor. This was my favorite flavor as a kid. Please sign this and help me get them back."

Unfortunately, there is no word on if the special flavor will be returning.
