Back in July, JMI hosted a panel discussion with industry leaders and experts to discuss the vital role of manufacturing in helping the UK overcome the current economic crisis.
In line with the Institute’s cross-party approach to research, the panellists were handpicked for their diverse perspectives on manufacturing. As such, their professional backgrounds span academia, business, politics, journalism, and automation. This helped to engineer a lively debate that encompassed multiple key opportunities in manufacturing, including gender diversity, remanufacturing, and exchange rate policy.
We are pleased to share a video of the event capturing key arguments from each panellist. The panel included John Mills, JMI founder; Mark Cook, Chairman at Sewtec; Mike Wilson, Chief Automation Officer at MTC; Dr. Yan Wang, remanufacturing expert at Brighton University; Tom St John, multimedia editor at The Manufacturer. The panel was moderated by Caroline Flint, Chair at JMI.
